Young Democrat living in the red state of Idaho. No, I do not have a potato farm, and yes, I do know where arnold's house here is. (It's a secret).

And so it begins.... For the Mainstream, anyway

As a college student, I don't have much access to the MSM beyond the local papers and the occasional blurb before class.  Where I get my news of the world is through the blogshpere.  Every morning, it's wake, shower, get breakfast then read myDD, Dailykos, and others.  Because of this, I have known of the coming filibuster fight for a few weeks now.

Now why is it that the MSM is just starting to cover the fight?  I am home for the summer now, as is my brother.  On his lunch break, he came home and was watching Inside Politics.  I was drowning out Headline News in the kitchen, cooking some potato pancakes, when he told me to turn on to CNN.  "Something big in the Senate's happening" He said.  I changed to CNN, and what was being reported was funny, at best.

Inside Politics was discussing which nominees were going to be refused, what rules the Senate would go through, and how soon it would be.  A smirk grew across my face as more of what I already knew was being reported on and discussed.  Are we privy to particular knowledge, or are they just that slow?
